LSU Game Saturday: LSU vs. Florida odds and prediction for college football week 7 game
By Zach Ragan
The equity that Ed Orgeron built as LSU football‘s head coach in 2019 is officially gone.
Coach O is now 8-8 since leading the Tigers to a win against Clemson in the 2019 national championship game.
LSU’s latest loss — a 42-21 shellacking at the hands of the Kentucky Wildcats — is likely the nail in the coffin for Orgeron. It’s hard to imagine him returning as the Tigers’ head coach in 2022 — unless LSU goes on a 6-0 run to finish the season.
Unfortunately for the Tigers, and Orgeron, the schedule doesn’t get any easier for LSU in the coming weeks. The Tigers get Florida in Baton Rouge this weekend, before playing at Ole Miss, at Alabama, and at home against Arkansas. That’s a rough stretch for a team that’s not playing well right now.
LSU vs Florida Odds Week 7
The latest odds from WynnBet have Florida as the favorite in this matchup at -10.0 (-110), while LSU is +10.0 (-110).
Florida is -400 on the moneyline, while LSU is +320. The over/under for the game is currently 59.5 (-110).
LSU vs Florida Prediction Week 7
It’s hard to bet on LSU to cover at this point. You have the feeling that eventually Ed Orgeron can rally the troops and get the Tigers playing better, but he has to prove he can do that before I’d be willing to place a wager on LSU. Florida isn’t that great either, but they’re better than the Tigers.
If this was a night game, I might feel a bit differently. But I don’t think the energy will be great for an 11:00 AM game at Tiger Stadium. I think Florida wins and covers.
I’m also taking the under in this game. I don’t think LSU’s offense will put up that many points against Florida’s No. 15 ranked scoring defense.
