LSU Football: The 5 best moments of the Ed Orgeron era
By Zach Ragan
4. Beating Texas A&M in Ed Orgeron’s final game
I’ll admit that this selection might be the result of recency bias.
But there was just no way I could leave it off the list.
Like I mentioned earlier, seeing Orgeron leave was bittersweet. It had to happen, but his contributions to the program were still appreciated.
Most folks didn’t expect the Tigers to beat Texas A&M to reach bowl eligibility last weekend. But LSU came ready to play. The entire night was emotional. And even though the Tigers’ final record wasn’t necessarily pretty (6-6 is never the goal at LSU), it was still a perfect ending to the season.
The players showed up and played hard for Orgeron. That says a lot about a coach.
And look, regardless of how you feel about Coach O and the last two seasons, I don’t think any LSU fan wanted to see Orgeron end his Tigers coaching career with a loss.
