LSU vs Texas A&M Odds: Line, Spread, Over/Under

In the midst of a three-game losing streak, the LSU Tigers look to get back on track when they host the Texas A&M Aggies at 9:00 PM EST tonight. WynnBET has the Tigers as 10-point favorites and -540 on the moneyline ($54 to win $10) while the over-under is 131.5.

Will the Tigers cover the large spread despite their recent struggles? Or is there a different bet to make that has value?

LSU vs Texas A&M Prediction

After getting off to a blazing 15-1 start to the season behind the #1 adjusted defensive efficiency in the country, LSU has fallen back down to earth over the last couple of weeks. They’re still an incredible defensive team, but have only eclipsed 60 points once in their last three games. Now they face an Aggies team that profiles similarly to them, ranking 35th in adjusted defensive efficiency but 116th in offense.

If we had an over-under for total turnovers, I’d recommend pounding the over. LSU has the 4th-best defensive turnover rate in the country but ranks just 275th in offensive turnover rate, while A&M ranks 11th and 177th in those same categories.

Points will be hard to come by. The Tigers are 16th in defensive 2-point percentage and 3rd in defensive 3-point percentage but just 137th in 2-point shooting and 241st in 3-point shooting. With such a dominant defense and mediocre offense, it’s no wonder LSU games have hit the under in 16 of 19 games this season.

While A&M seems to be just a little bit worse version of LSU, they’ve fared well against the spread recently and are catching LSU at the right time. I think the Tigers win this game, but 9.5 points is a bit too many in what should be a defensive slugfest.

I’ll take A&M +9.5, but I’ll also be taking the under 131.5. A&M’s 211th-fastest pace of play has helped three of their last four contests go under, and with LSU being an as automatic an under bet as they come, I like those trends to continue.

Whether you like the spread, over-under, or both like me, head on over to WynnBET and place your bet now.
