LSU football is one of the programs in the mix for 2022 five-star linebacker Harold Perkins.

Perkins, 6-foot-3/210 lbs from Cypress, TX (Cypress), is ranked in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 2 linebacker in the country and the No. 2 player in Texas. He’s also rated as the No. 8 overall player in the 2022 recruiting class.

The talented linebacker committed to the Texas A&M Aggies on January 2, but he decommitted just 22 days later.

Perkins is at LSU this weekend for a visit, which means the Tigers are the last program he’ll see in person before making his final decision on National Signing Day next week.

Did LSU Football get a good sign in Harold Perkins’ recruitment?

247Sports’ Shea Dixon reported on Saturday that Perkins arrived at LSU this weekend with quite a few guests.

Dixon said Perkins brought his mom, dad, brothers, and uncles with him on his visit.

Perkins’ family is from New Orleans, so the Tigers are kind of the hometown program — from a family standpoint.

With LSU being Perkins’ final visit before National Signing Day, I think it’s a great sign for the Tigers’ chances that the elite linebacker brought most of his family with him to Baton Rouge.

Everyone having a good time this weekend at LSU is going to be the last thing Perkins experiences before he makes his college decision on February 2.

I’m not about to call LSU the favorite in this battle — recruiting is always fluid.

But I’m really starting to like the Tigers’ chances. I didn’t think LSU had much of a shot here a few weeks ago. However, I’m starting to believe it could happen.
