Odell Beckham Jr issued warning to close NFL friend about Cleveland Browns
By Zach Ragan
Former LSU Football wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr is one win away from appearing in his first Super Bowl.
Beckham started the 2021 season with the Cleveland Browns, but he was released after his father put a video on Instagram complaining about the way OBJ was being used in Cleveland’s offense.
The Los Angeles Rams signed Beckham after he was waived by the Browns.
The addition of OBJ came shortly after the Rams made a trade with the Denver Broncos for edge rusher Von Miller.
Beckham and Miller are longtime friends who have wanted to play with each other for a while.
Odell Beckham Jr told Von Miller not to come to Cleveland
According to Sports Illustrated, Miller and OBJ moved to Colorado Springs last offseason to work out together and train.
Miller told Sports Illustrated that he and Beckham talked about playing with each other during their offseason training sessions.
The former Texas A&M standout at one point suggested that the duo could play together in Ohio (with the Browns, where OBJ was on the roster).
According to Miller, Beckham quickly shot down that idea.
“Don’t come to Cleveland,” is what Miller told Sports Illustrated that Beckham told him.
There’s been plenty of talk about OBJ being a distraction in Cleveland. But maybe all this time the distraction was Cleveland itself?
OBJ seems to be thriving with the Rams — he had six catches for 69 yards in the Rams’ playoff win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while the Browns are at home watching the playoffs.
We’re even seeing some nice leadership from Beckham on the sidelines in LA.
Browns fans won’t like this. But I’m starting to think the problem in Cleveland wasn’t OBJ.
