Joe Burrow made a completely ridiculous claim and we actually believe him
By Zach Ragan
Former LSU football quarterback Joe Burrow is one of the most popular people in the country after leading the Cincinnati Bengals to their first Super Bowl appearance in over 30 years.
The Bengals went 2-14 two years ago before they drafted Burrow with the No. 1 overall pick and completely changed the trajectory of their franchise.
That’s one of the most insane turnarounds in the history of football. And it has folks believing that Burrow could actually be the next Tom Brady.
The main reason Burrow is so good is his insane confidence. He truly believes there’s nothing he can’t do. And somehow he doesn’t come across as arrogant.
Joe Burrow made a completely ridiculous claim and we actually believe him
Burrow is so confident in himself that he apparently believes he could go into an NBA game right now and score 12-15 points.
He’s not kidding.
I’ve never seen Burrow play basketball before, but I believe him. His competitiveness would definitely play in the NBA.
Now, it helps that Burrow does have a history of being a good basketball player.
The former LSU star scored 1,426 points in his high school career — second in Athens High School history. He was also named the Division II Southeast District Player of the Year and he was a first-team All-Ohio selection.
Burrow’s high school coach, Jeff Skinner, thinks the quarterback could’ve easily played college basketball.
“I think he was definitely tracked toward a mid-major to high mid-major type of basketball player,” said Skinner in 2019 (via The Athens Messenger). “It would have taken the kind of focus and kind of work that he put in year-round for football to make that happen, but he was definitely on that track.”
I wouldn’t recommend doubting Burrow — he tends to prove folks wrong. So when he says he could score 12-15 points in an NBA game, I believe him.
