LSU football currently has the No. 18 ranked 2022 recruiting class in the nation (No. 8 in the SEC).

That’s definitely not up to LSU standards, though that’s just a byproduct of a coaching change.

Fortunately for the Tigers, they have a chance to shoot up the rankings with a big National Signing Day (February 2).

LSU has several big targets that they are hoping to land on Wednesday.

Here’s who we think the Tigers land and don’t land.

National Signing Day predictions for LSU football

Jacoby Mathews — 4-star — DB (Ponchatoula, LA)

Mathews is a former LSU commit, but Texas A&M has given him a lot to think about over the last several months. At one point, it appeared that Mathews was College Station bound. But Mathews has connected well with Brian Kelly and the new Tigers assistants. I think he signs with LSU.

Caleb Douglas — 3-star — WR (Missouri City, TX)

Douglas is a player the Tigers would love to add, but I think they got involved a little too late in the cycle to make this a reality. I have the Texas native landing with Florida

Danny Lewis — 3-star — TE (New Iberia, LA)

Lewis is from Louisiana, but that doesn’t mean he’s an automatic get for LSU. This one is tough since Alabama and Florida are also in the mix. The Tide appear to be pushing hard. I’m going with Alabama here.

TreVonte’ Citizen — 4-star — RB (Lake Charles, LA)

Another tough one. The Tigers have made up a lot of ground for Citizen, thanks to running backs coach Frank Wilson. But I don’t think it’s enough to overcome Citizen’s strong relationship with Auburn running backs coach Cadillac Williams. I have Auburn winning this battle on Wednesday. But how’s this for a twist — I think Citizen eventually transfers to LSU.

Harold Perkins — 5-star — LB (Cypress, TX)

This is the biggest potential get of the day for the Tigers. Perkins, who recently decommitted from Texas A&M, is ranked as the No. 2 linebacker in the country. He visited LSU this past weekend — his final visit before National Signing Day. And his family is from New Orleans. I’m feeling pretty good about Perkins signing with LSU on Wednesday.

Jaelyn Davis-Robinson — 3-star — DB (Waxahachie, TX)

This one feels like a slam dunk for the Tigers. Davis-Robinson’s only SEC offer is from LSU. His other major offers are from Boston College, Louisville, Oregon, and Washington State. I think Davis-Robinson signs with LSU tomorrow.
