LSU Football: Elite 2023 DL to visit Tigers this spring
By Zach Ragan
LSU football is one of the many programs hoping to land a commitment from 2023 four-star defensive lineman Jason Moore.
Moore, 6-foot-6/255 lbs from Hyattsville, MD (DeMatha Catholic), is ranked in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 6 defensive lineman in the country and the No. 1 player in Maryland.
He’s also rated as the No. 43 overall player in the 2023 recruiting class.
Moore holds offers from pretty much all the major programs in the nation, including Alabama, Florida, LSU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State, and Texas A&M, among many others.

According to Julie Boudwin, who covers the Tigers for Rivals.com, reported this week that Moore is planning to visit LSU in March.
Boudwin noted that Moore has a previous relationship with new Tigers head coach Brian Kelly and new defensive line coach Jamar Cain (Cain previously coached at Oklahoma).
Miami and South Carolina appear to be the other programs that are currently making a major push for the elite defensive tackle.
247Sports national recruiting analyst Brian Dohn describes Moore as a player who is “powerful and can sink hips to explode up and into offensive lineman” and “does not get frustrated and keeps working hard against double teams”.
Dohn says Moore should be a multi-year starter at a high-level program and could be a day one pick in the NFL draft eventually.
There’s obviously still a lot of time left in this recruiting battle, which means Kelly has plenty of time to show Moore around Baton Rouge.
LSU currently has only one commit to their 2023 recruiting class (four-star wide receiver Omarion Miller, who committed to the Tigers last August).
