LSU football will have plenty of representation on both sidelines on Sunday when the Cincinnati Bengals take on the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LVI.

So who are LSU fans cheering for?

The Bengals have four former Tigers on the roster — quarterback Joe Burrow, wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase, defensive lineman Tyler Shelvin, and tight end Thaddeus Moss.

Los Angeles has two former LSU players on the roster — wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr and offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth.

Who are LSU football fans cheering for in Super Bowl LVI?

I think the initial thought is for LSU fans to cheer for the Bengals because of Burrow and Chase.

But what about Beckham and his attempt to finally win a Super Bowl after being in the NFL since 2014?

Beckham has gone through a lot in his career — some of it his own fault, some of it not — so it’s great to see him finally get away from the drama and be able to focus on football.

However, while OBJ is certainly a beloved figure in LSU athletics history, he’s not Burrow.

Burrow is kind of in a league of his own when it comes to former Tigers. I don’t think there’s a more beloved former LSU player around.

It’s hard to imagine Tigers fans cheering against Burrow on Sunday (unless they’re Rams fans, which I’m sure there are a few of those).

I don’t view this as LSU fans cheering against Beckham. I think LSU fans would be beyond happy to see him with the Lombardi Trophy in any other season.

Sorry OBJ, but most of Baton Rouge is going to be cheering for Joe Burrow on Sunday evening.
