LSU football is one of the teams in the mix for a 2023 four-star defensive back from the west coast.

Aaron Williams, 6-foot-2/185 lbs from Corona, CA (Centennial), is ranked in 247Sports composite rankings as the No. 18 cornerback in the nation and the No. 12 player in California. He’s also rated as the No. 153 overall player in the 2023 recruiting class.

Williams holds notable offers from Alabama, Arizona, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Oklahoma, Oregon, and USC, among many others.

The talented defensive back is set to visit LSU in mid-March, right after taking a visit to Alabama.

What kind of shot does LSU football have to land Aaron Williams?

Williams spoke with Rivals.com this week about his recruitment and it’s clear that LSU is a top option for the California native.

“I love LSU, it’s DBU so I’m very interested,” said Williams to Rivals.

Williams noted that he’s watched Eli Ricks, Derek Stingley, and Tyrann Mathieu play at LSU (Ricks has since transferred to Alabama).

There’s no doubt that LSU is “DBU”. The Tigers are always going to be one of the top teams in the nation when it comes to developing elite defensive backs.

But will they be able to get Williams to Baton Rouge?

It could be tough if we’re being honest.

The Tigers are dealing with a transition period right now. While Brian Kelly had proved himself at Notre Dame, he hasn’t proved himself yet in the SEC.

Recruits are going to need to see how Kelly fares at LSU before going all-in on the Tigers.

Next. Joe Burrow is already a legend. dark

Once Kelly proves he can be a championship-caliber coach in the SEC, we’ll see the recruiting flood gates open up.
