When will LSU football’s spring game be played in 2022?

LSU Football will hit the field for the first time with Brian Kelly as their head coach this spring.

The Tigers are looking to prove to the country that Kelly can bring LSU back from two straight mediocre seasons (11-12 the last two years).

Kelly proved at Notre Dame that he was an elite head coach — he just didn’t have the roster to win a national championship.

But that shouldn’t be a problem at LSU. The Tigers routinely land the top talent in the country. Kelly will have the best talent he’s ever had in his coaching career while at LSU.

So in other words, it’s championship or bust for the new Tigers head coach.

But not in 2022. Kelly gets a “honeymoon” year. Fans will expect big improvements, but no one is expecting a natty in Kelly’s first season (though that would certainly be amazing).

When will LSU football’s spring game be played?

Kelly will join his team on the grass for the first time when spring practice starts on March 24.

LSU will have 15 total spring practices. The last spring practice will be the annual spring game.

That spring game will be held on April 23. The kickoff time for the game has not yet been announced.

It’ll be interesting to see how Kelly handles spring practices — especially from the media’s point of view (how much access is granted, how often do assistant coaches speak to media, which players speak to media, etc).

It’s a new era of LSU football. But it was needed. I think everyone greatly appreciates what Ed Orgeron brought to the Tigers. It was just time for some new leadership.
