March Madness might be the single greatest post season sporting event outside of the Super Bowl. Today, we’re going to be looking into when the Tigers could be tipping off the 2023 Men’s and Women’s March Madness and NIT Tournament.

March Madness is the time of year where fans of all sports come together to watch arguably the greatest sporting event of the year. The tournament is full of feel-good Cinderella stories, buzzer beaters, and some of the best basketball you will ever watch.

March Madness falls in the time of year with very little post-season sporting events. Even people who aren’t fans of college basketball still find themselves glued to their TV or phones watching. With that being said, when does March Madness kickoff and does LSU basketball have a chance of dancing in 2023?

When does the 2023 Men’s March Madness Tipoff?

Selection Sunday is the day where fans and teams find out if the effort they put in throughout the season paid off. Selection Sunday will take place after the conclusion of the conference tournaments on March 12th at 5 p.m. CST.

Here is the full 2023 Men’s March Madness schedule.

  • First Four: March 14-15
  • First Round: March 16-17
  • Second Round: March 18-19
  • Sweet 16: March 23-24
  • Elite Eight: March 25-26

Tiger fans are likely going to have to wait at least another season to see their men’s team dance in March. This would be the first time in the last three NCAA Tournaments LSU will not qualify in their first year under Matt McMahon.

When Does the Women’s March Madness Tipoff?

The Women’s Selection Sunday is also March 12th but will be aired at 7 p.m. CST. The Women’s March Madness tournament kicks off one day after the Men’s with their First Four games being Wednesday, March 15th and Thursday, March 16th.

The Bayou Bengals will host the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive season under Kim Mulkey. Mulkey has four final fours at Baylor and are trying to being the Tigers back for the first time since 2008.

When Does the NIT Tournament Tipoff?
