The LSU football program is currently courting their future potential generational quarterback. His name is Bryce Underwood, and he’s darn good.

Bryce Underwood will make a lot of campus visits as his recruiting trail heats up. However, one of his first visits was to the LSU football program in Baton Rouge. According to Underwood’s father, the trip was among the best.

The top quarterback of the 2025 class prioritized his visit with Brian Kelly’s program. Such attitude speaks volumes about Kelly’s efforts to return LSU to the highest echelon in college football. Also, the Underwood’s praised the path LSU mapped out for their son. One can assume the path includes everything from NIL valuation to depth chart progression.

LSU football fans might wonder why one must care about a player commitment nearly two years away. The answer is simple; Underwood has generational quarterback potential.

Bryce Underwood is a two-time Michigan state champion with Belleville HS. He owns all the high school football stats expected of a player with his ability. Underwood is also 6-3 and 210 pounds, and only 15 years old. Suffice it to say; Underwood is poised to dominate at the collegiate level.

Quarterbacks coach Joe Sloan continues to lead LSU football’s efforts to land Underwood’s commitment. Underwood is a pro-style quarterback that currently owns four stars in most prominent college football recruiting outlets. However, barring injury, he will gain a consensus 5th star before graduating high school and attracting much more interest.

LSU football fans must expect the Tigers to continue courting Underwood to include future Death Valley visits. Underwood has offers from 46 schools, including LSU, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, and Penn State. But, of course, the Wolverines are currently the favorite because of the in-state advantage.

The LSU football program is in excellent shape at the quarterback position. Jaden Daniels likely starts most of the 2023 season before passing the baton to Garrett Nussmeier ahead of 2024. 2023 four-star recruit Rickie Collins joins Daniels and Nussmeier in the quarterback room this season. In 2024, the Tigers are expected to add four-star recruit, Colin Hurley.
