The Tigers went up big early and never looked back as they dominated the Wolverines in all facets of the game. LSU will now have their biggest tournament challenge, with No. 2 Utah on their slate.

Utah finished the regular season as co-Pac-12 conference champions with Stanford. However, the Utes were upset by Washington State in their first game of the Pac-12 conference tournament. Nevertheless, Utah enjoyed an excellent season after finishing 21-12 (8-7 Pac-12) the year prior.

In other women’s NCAA Tournament news, March Madness ravaged thousands of brackets last weekend. In the Greenville 1 bracket, No. 9 Miami knocked off the No. 1 seed Indiana in a Round of 32 thriller. Then, No. 8 Ole Miss upset No. 1 Stanford in the Seattle 4 bracket.

This is the second time a pair of No. 1 seeded teams were knocked out the women’s NCAA Tournament ahead of the Sweet 16. The last time such occurred was 1998 when No. 9 Notre Dame upset No. 1 Texas Tech and No. 16 Harvard upset No. 1 Stanford.
