No. 3 – The Death Valley white out vs. Tennessee

January 30 marked the LSU Tigers’ most significant home game of the regular season. Such significance was due to their opponents in the Tennessee Volunteers and the hype around Baton Rouge. Also, the game was significant for the SEC standings.

LSU Tigers fans turned up in masses, shattering the Pete Maravich Assembly Center’s attendance record. 15,157 fans poured into PMAC, demonstrating how much women’s basketball has grown in Louisiana.

What was unique about the game was that a usually purple crowd was a sea of white instead. Such is because LSU Tigers’ fans rose to the occasion of a ‘white out.’ I can attest to the wild and alive atmosphere as someone who attended the game. It was indeed a night to remember for everyone inside PMAC.

Suffice it to say, the LSU Tigers vs. Tennessee Lady Volunteers lived up to the atmosphere.

Perhaps most memorable was the fourth quarter, in which Angel Reese and Alexis Morris combined for 21 of LSU’s 26 points. Their efforts led the Tigers to a 76-68 victory, sending a strong message to the rest of college basketball.

For Morris, her 31 points against Tennessee was a career-high. Moreover, Reese posted her 21st double-double of the year.
