LSU football dominates No. 2 Georgia
Game: LSU Tigers vs. Georgia Bulldogs
Date: October 13, 2018
Location: Baton Rouge, La.
Final Score: 36-16
LSU football sent a strong message when they defeated the No. 2 Georgia Bulldogs in 2018.
For many LSU football fans, the 20-point win over Georgia in Death Valley was a sign that Joe Burrow was leading a special team. The LSU quarterback was incredibly poised that day, throwing for 200 yards on 30 attempts.
Burrow’s legs were the bigger factor. The eventual Heisman Trophy winner scampered for 66 rushing yards and a pair of touchdowns on 13 carries. Clyde Edwards-Helaire also had a huge ground game with 145 yards on 19 carries.
LSU football controlled the clock as their defense stymied a great Georgia offense. The win was big for the Tigers, who had a disappointing loss at The Swamp the week prior.
Knocking off Georgia was LSU’s third win over a ranked opponent in 7 weeks.
