No. 4 – BJ Ojulari

Team: Arizona Cardinals

Position: Linebacker

Depth Chart: LOLB – 2nd

BJ Ojulari was the first LSU football product selected in the 2023 NFL Draft. The Arizona Cardinals, fresh off JJ Watt’s retirement, used the 41st overall pick to bring Ojulari to the desert.

Expecting Ojulari to fill a void left by a former All-Pro in Watt is unreasonable. However, the Cardinals need disrupters and playmakers on defense, and Ojualri can do both. LSU football fans know that better than most.

Ojulari was always near the action during his tenure with the Tigers. He finished his collegiate career with 128 total tackles and 16.5 sacks. Suffice it to say; Ojulari was a natural fit at the JACK linebacker position.

Ojulari will transition to a more conventional outside linebacker position in the Arizona defense. Unfortunately, injuries have resulted in a delayed start.

The former LSU football defender was placed on the (PUP) physically unable to perform list last week. Such is the result of a minor procedure that addressed a knee injury. Fans were unaware of the injury before the Cardinals published their PUP list.

All we know of Ojulari’s pending return is “soon.” Arizona is, understandably, playing it safe their rookie linebacker.
