No. 3 – Patrick Peterson

Team: Pittsburgh Steelers

Position: Cornerback

Depth Chart: NB – 1st

Patrick Peterson has carved out an excellent NFL career that is still in progress. The former LSU football superstar is beginning a new chapter in Pittsburgh after signing a two-year deal with the Steelers this offseason.

A couple of years ago, there was talk circulating social media that Peterson was washed up. Undoubtedly, the cornerback was slowing down, as we all do with age. However, talk that he was no longer an impact player was traced back to salty Cardinals fans.

Regardless, Peterson departed Arizona and signed a one-year, prove-it deal with the Minnesota Vikings ahead of the 2021 season. P2 underwhelmed with the rest of the Minnesota defense in what became Mike Zimmer’s final year as a head coach.

The Vikings brought Peterson back with another one-year deal for 2022. As such, P2 experienced a bit of a statistical renaissance, posting 66 tackles and five interceptions. Few will forget his game-sealing interception during last November’s Bills vs. Vikings thriller.

Peterson is one of the most successful players that wore No. 7 during his tenure with LSU football. This season, he’ll wear No. 20 with the black and gold in Pittsburgh.

We’re paying attention as P2 assumes the top nickel role in Mike Tomlin’s defense.
