LSU football is an NFL factory that produces elite pro football talent. There’s proof of such in the latest release of the NFL Top 100 list.

The NFL’s Top 100 is one of the most prestigious preseason lists. This year, three former LSU football players find themselves in the list’s top 50. Morever, all three former Tigers are products of the greatest college football team of all time.

Receiver Ja’Marr Chase is the first former member of the 2019 LSU football team to appear in the NFL Top 100. NFL players ranked the current Cincinnati Bengals star at No. 39.

Despite missing five games due to injuries, Chase put up 87 receptions for 1,042 yards and nine touchdowns in 2022. He has already established himself as one of the top receivers in pro football with the best yet to come.

NFL players ranked Chase as the No. 7 wide receiver in the league, but we think he’s better than the number. Indeed, Chase is a top 10 NFL player with a 17-game season on his resume.

It’s safe to say that the Bengals starting quarterback will agree. Speaking of the Bengals’ signal-caller; we climb all the way to the No. 6 spot of the NFL Top 100.

Joe Burrow is a man that everyone in Baton Rouge will remember for the rest of their lives as the one who led LSU football back to the promised land. Someday, he will have a statue outside of Tiger Stadium. For now, the former LSU quarterback must settle for No. 6 honors in the NFL Top 100.

Burrow earned his spot in the NFL’s top 10 players after leading the Bengals to their second straight AFC championship game. He posted a career year in which he threw for 4,475 yards and 35 touchdowns.

The third LSU football legend on the NFL Top 100 list landed at No. 2 overall.

Simply put, Justin Jefferson let everyone know he’s the best receiver in pro football last season. He earned NFL Offensive Player of the Year and All-Pro honors after leading the league in receptions (128) and receiving yards (1,809) in 2022.

Jefferson was only overshadowed by the best player in all of football. Of course, we’re talking about the most talented quarterback in a generation, Patrick Mahomes. Mahomes is likely the No. 1 overall player in the NFL Top 100 for years to come.

But if anyone were to jump ahead of the Chiefs’ quarterback, it would be Justin Jefferson.

Many preseason rankings and honors are voted on by the media. However, the NFL Top 100 is unique because it’s determined by the players. Media can use the eye test to gauge talent, but nobody knows how good a player really is like their opponent know.

Next. The Joe Burrow documentary that LSU fans crave is coming. dark

Alabama was the only other school to have two players in the top 15. Regardless, LSU football continues to show that Baton Rouge is the destination for players craving NFL stardom.
