One of the most annoying national sports media personalities predicted LSU football in the national championship game. I’m not sure how to feel about it.

Colin Cowherd joined Greg McElroy on ‘Always College Football’ this week. Their discussion included predicting the 2023 College Football Playoff National Championship game. Cowherd’s prediction is LSU football vs. Michigan.

The host of ‘The Herd’ on Fox Sports justified his prediction and praised Brian Kelly and the Tigers.

"“I don’t think LSU is the best SEC team, I don’t think they’re the deepest…But I love the coach, I love the quarterback, and I looked at their schedule and I think LSU? It’s going to be a lot of people knocking each other off. I like LSU a lot.”"

Cowherd’s comments call for the ‘Breaking: Worst person you know just made a good point’ meme.

I’m not a fan of Colin Cowherd; thus, I prefer that he is not a fan of the LSU Tigers. The longtime radio jock has made truckloads of money with extreme takes that are the radio equivalent of internet clickbait. He’s also on the same level as Mike Francesca in knowing what’s happening in the modern sports world.

Cowherd recently made headlines with his list of quarterbacks that will never with a Super Bowl. The list included the late Dwayne Haskins. A less extreme (but memorable) example of Cowherd’s buffoonery is his 2022 hype of a Chicago Bears running back named “Armstrong.”

The Bears did not have a running back with that name.

Somewhere, a researcher must be willing to conduct a study on Cowherd’s ratings and listener motivation. I need to know if people find ‘The Herd’ enjoyable or if they tune in to hear stupid things Cowherd says while on the air.

My brother lost his credibility as a sports fan by admitting he listens to ‘The Herd.’ However, of course, he claims that he doesn’t like Cowherd and can’t explain why he consumes Cowherd’s content like a drug.

Nevertheless, I know I’m in for a spicy exchange each time little bro sends me a text that begins with, “I know [Cowherd] says a lot of dumb things, but…”

Next. Urban Meyer’s embarrassing remarks to Joe Burrow. dark

Touché, Steve. Cowherd says many dumb things, but I think he is correct about LSU football in 2023.
