LSU Football is out for blood after a heartbreaking Week 1 loss to Florida State last year. As such, there are three keys to victory for the Tigers next Sunday.

LSU Football has improved significantly this past year with every returning player making huge progress and showing how special the team can be in 2023. Conversely, the Seminoles aren’t slouches by any stretch of the imagination.

Either way, the Tigers have what it takes to beat them this year. Here’s three keys that will lead LSU to success on September 3rd in Orlando.

1. LSU Football wins if Jayden Daniels airs it out

Jayden Daniels holds the first and arguably most important key to an LSU Football victory next Sunday night. Despite solid ball security and some great, off-script plays with his legs last year, the clear point of focus for Daniels’ off-season was his passing.

Malik Nabers, Kyren Lacy, and Brian Thomas are going to be eating a lot more this year with Daniels’ willingness to get the ball downfield. Mason Taylor is also going to see an increase in receptions this year. Kelly loves scheming up plays that get his tight ends involved.

I think that Florida State is preparing to box Daniels, but the graduate quarterback counters by letting the ball fly.

2. LSU Football wins if Harold Perkins is let loose

The second major key to victory for LSU Football against Florida State is letting Harold Perkins loose. We know that last year, Perkins didn’t really know how to play football, but was still a game-wrecker. He broke Arkansas, bullied Ole Miss, and had Alabama trying to avoid him all night.

It’s a scary thought, that one of the best defensive players in the country didn’t know how to play football. Nevertheless, a full offseason of learning scheme and technique will serve the sophomore well.

Perkins is one of the best athletes on the LSU Football roster and should be used as such. Defensive coordinator Matt House must draw up every which way for Perkins to harass Florida State quarterback Jordan Travis all night. We do expect that Perkins will spend much of his time as an inside linebacker and attacking the ball.

We all know Travis is a great athlete, but Perkins is going to have the quarterback’s attention on every play. As such, the FSU coaching staff will be doing all they can to eliminate Perkins from the game. All the extra attention creates opportunities for stars like Mekhi Wingo and Sai’vion Jones to make plays.

3. LSU Football beats FSU by winning in the trenches

The last major key to victory for LSU Football is getting the offensive line finally gelling. The first few weeks of last season were tough to watch because of the guys up front. The offensive line struggled chemistry-wise and lacked continuity. As a result, serious miscues hurt the Tigers’ offense in early games despite the abundance of talent.

Will Campbell and Emory Jones Jr. had some promising moments as freshmen and learned a lot from more experienced guys like Garrett Dellinger. The entire offensive line has looked great throughout camp in Baton Rouge. Indeed, iron sharpens iron.

I feel good about where the offensive line is prior to the Week 1 matchup with FSU. Obviously, matching up against defenders like Perkins and Maason Smith in practice will have LSU’s offensive line ready to play on September 3rd.

The Tigers beat Florida State if they rule the trenches next Sunday. Book it.

LSU Football is ready to dominate and get revenge for last year’s game. Such will not be easy, but the Tigers are hungry are ready to climb back to the summit.

My final score prediction is that LSU beats Florida State 35 – 21.
