LSU Football sleeper: Logan Diggs

Position: Running back

Class: Junior

Ht/Wt: 6’1″, 215 lbs.

Hometown: Boutte (La.)

We might be cheating some by naming Logan Diggs to a list of LSU sleepers for this season. Unlike Sage Ryan, Diggs posted numbers that disqualify him from the “whoa, didn’t know he was that good” dynamic. Indeed, Diggs is talented, but we think that many fans and talking heads have forgotten that he can play.

We also think that the majority has forgotten that Diggs transferred to LSU.

Logan Diggs ran for 820 yards and four touchdowns on 165 carries with Notre Dame season. For perspective, only Jayden Daniels carried the ball more than Diggs in 2022.

Diggs joins a crowded running back room in Baton Rouge but with a ton of experience, size, and above-average speed. The former Archbishop Rummel HS star offers LSU Football a workhorse running back dynamic that was achieved by committee last season.

We expect Kelly to employ a committee approach to running back that Josh Williams and Noah Cain spearhead. However, we think Diggs will emerge as a favorite after proving that he can shoulder tough carries, offer speed around the edge, and factor into the LSU Football passing game.
