Last season, we didn’t really know what to expect from Mike Norvell’s Florida State Seminoles or Brian Kelly’s LSU Tigers, but coming into this year the expectations are sky high. Jayden Daniels leads LSU and Jordan Travis is back under center for Florida State and both are Heisman Trophy candidates.

Florida State pulled out a win in a crazy game last year, but it was a crazy sloppy game. This season there will still be plenty of fireworks, but that’s because these are two of the best teams in the country.

BetSided betting insider Reed Wallach expects plenty of points to be scored in Week 1 in Orlando. If you’re with him, bet using this FanDuel Sportsbook promo. Both offenses have really good supporting casts, but it is all about the quarterbacks in this one. Wallach likes what he saw from both last season.

“Daniels is the second choice to win the Heisman Trophy after helping LSU make a late push for the SEC Championship game,” Wallach wrote. “While he was clutch in wins against the likes of Alabama, his overall numbers need to take a step forward, and the hope is that with an experienced offensive line and a unit that returns 82% of production from last season, Daniels will be in line to do so.”

Meanwhile, Travis should be game as well. “Another Heisman Trophy contender, Travis enters with lofty goals for 2023,” Wallach wrote in his betting preview. “With a loaded wide receiver room that includes Johnny Wilson and transfer Keon Coleman, FSU will hope to take the next step with Travis under center after he passed for 3,214 yards and 24 touchdowns with only five interceptions.”

The offensive line is back in LSU and the receivers are back at FSU, so two great QBs have a lot of help and that means points. Reed Wallach like the over in Week 1.
