LSU Football heads to Mississippi State for their SEC opener. We asked our counterparts at Maroon and White Nation for their perspective on the Week 3 game.

We’re an LSU Football fan-driven site that prides itself on using the FanSided platform to solicit and spread the fans’ opinions. Thus, we couldn’t wait to ask our counterparts at Maroon and White (M&W) Nation for their thoughts on LSU Football and their Week 3 game against Mississippi State.

M&W Nation is FanSided’s home of fan-driven Mississippi State Bulldogs coverage. We asked some asked the questions and they gave us some interesting insight into the fans’ perspective in Starkville.

What’s different about Mississippi State under Zach Arnett?

Death Valley Voice (DVV): What are some of the notable differences with the Mississippi State football program under Zach Arnett’s leadership? What else has changed other than the offensive scheme?

M&W Nation: We all knew Mike Leach and the attitude he brought to every program he led, but Leach and Arnett could not be more different in their demeanors. There has been a lot of discourse amongst fans on whether this is an identity that should be leaned into, “Blue Collar” is a theme that seems to be repeatedly boosted within the program. Arnett makes a point to wear boots and jeans on recruiting trips and at booster events, and his talk backs up the image. The man is a DC to his core, and that is a bit of what worries me about him long-term. Being “hard-nosed” and “physical” are objectively good football things to be, but how sellable is that image/attitude in todays college football that is built around roster turnover and transfers? We shall see.
