LSU Football needed a big win to put their season back on track and restore the optimism surrounding the program. They did just that on Saturday.

LSU Football smothered the Mississippi State Bulldogs in Starkville on Saturday. The Tigers’ 41-14 win is a reminder that they’re capable of competing for a spot in the College Football Playoff.

LSU Football beat the brakes off Grambling State in Week 2, but such was expected because of a significant talent gap. Conversely, the HBCU program easily moved the ball in the game’s earlier stages. As such, we had concerns regarding LSU’s defense entering Week 3.

Our concerns were made silly as the Tigers neutralized the Mississippi State offense throughout most of the game. Suffice it to say that our friends at Maroon & White Nation were not enjoying the Bulldogs’ offensive output.

Offensive gains were not a problem on the opposite side, as LSU moved the ball at will throughout the day.

Quarterback Jayden Daniels was excellent today, compelling 30-of-34 passes for 361 yards and two touchdowns. His 88.2% completion percentage is a new single-game record for LSU. Moreover, Daniels carried the ball 15 times for 64 yards and a pair of rushing touchdowns.

Malik Nabers was the benefactor of Daniels’ big day through the air. The junior receiver posted a career afternoon with 13 catches for 239 yards and two touchdowns. Most of Nabers’ damage was done in the first half.

Indeed, the game was out of hand at the midway point.

LSU Football appears to have corrected some of the issues that caused their disappointing Week 1 loss to Florida State. Mississippi State is a 5-6 win team, but they presented a veteran quarterback, impressive skill position players, and a hostile environment. Nevertheless, the Tigers conquered all the above with ease.
