LSU Football defeated the Arkansas Razorbacks 34-31 last Saturday in Baton Rouge. We asked Tigers fans what they thought about the win, and they delivered.

The “Battle for the Boot” was won by three points for the fourth straight season. LSU Football won the rivalry game for the second straight season. As such, “The Boot” trophy remains in Baton Rouge for another year.

We asked LSU Football fans their thoughts about the win, and surprisingly, the responses were mostly positive. We expected the Tigers’ faithful to be optimistic after the team’s second SEC win. However, the LSU vs. Arkansas final score was much closer than what fans predicted before the game.

“Hard fought battel between 2 good teams!!” -Naida R.

“Arkansas always puts up a fight every year no matter they’re [rank]. It’s a battle” -Cody P.

“A win is a win” -Donnie B.

“Always glad to get a win. I thought Arkansas was well-coached.” -WM F.

The reactions from LSU fans was not all positive. Indeed, many Bayou Bengals loyalists were not pleased with the Tigers defensive effort.

Sloppy play by LSU” -Tim B.

“Defense has serious problems” -James C.

“Looking like a PAC 12 Defense right now on the backside.” -Skeet R.

“Defense was CHEEKS all four quarters. Couldn’t get to the [quarterback], missed tackles that could’ve stopped drives, [defensive backs] got cooked…” -Riley D.

“Defense is an absolute joke.” -Austin C.

“Defense was a dumpster fire” -Brandon L.

Lastly, I must mention the LSU Football fans who remembered Jayden Daniels’ slow start against Arkansas. I pointed out that the Tigers’ signal-caller was not great in the first half against the Hogs and was criticized by some LSU fans. Nevertheless, the comments from some Death Valley Voice cronies prove that I wasn’t hallucinating.

“Daniels must have been off his game [because] before that past [touchdown] to Nabers, all his throws seemed to be very underthrown” -Nick M.

“Daniels was off. But still founds a way in the second half.” -Riley D.

“Very concerned about Daniels starting slowly…” -Tommy S.

As usual, LSU Football fans are a mixed bag of emotions regardless of the outcome. I can’t wait to hear what they’re thinking about the Week 5 matchup at Ole Miss before and after.
