Jayden Daniels didn’t play on Championship Weekend, and it may have secured his Heisman Trophy win.

After falling behind Bo Nix in the eyes of the betting public, Daniels has surged to become a very likely winner in the eyes of the market, as high as -1450 to win the Heisman after Oregon lost to Washington in the PAC-12 Championship on Friday night.

The Ducks were viewed as very likely to defeat the Huskies in the Conference Championship game, which would give the nation’s leading passer, Nix, not only a ton of counting stats but the team success that typically warrants Heisman Trophy consideration.

However, following the loss, there is little for Nix to stand on when comparing his numbers to Daniels, who is the nation’s leader in terms of all-purpose yards by a wide margin.

There is little standing in the way now of Daniels winning the Heisman come next Saturday, December 9th, now.
