3 Milestones to root for when the LSU Football team faces off against Oklahoma
The LSU Tigers won't be jockeying for College Football Playoff seeding, they won't be trying to qualify for a Bowl game, and they won't be facing a heated rival. The Tigers will instead face off against Oklahoma as both teams jockey for positioning for a better Non-Playoff Bowl game looking to end their regular season on the right note.
This weekend, LSU has a few players that could reach incredible milestones which is a story to keep an eye on. When you're watching LSU this weekend, root for massive games from these three players as it would be incredible to see them reach these milestones.
175 yards receiving by Kyren Lacy
The past two seasons, Malik Nabers has went over 1,000 yards receiving twice while Brian Thomas Jr did it last season. The receiver with the best shot at breaking the 1,000 yard mark is Kyren Lacy as he sits on 825 yards receiving. If Kyren Lacy doesn't play in the Bowl Game, he'll need 175 yards this weekend which would be by far his best performance in the Purple and Gold.
1.5 sacks by Bradyn Swinson
Earlier this season it seemed that Bradyn Swinson would have a great shot at breaking Arden Key's record of 12 sacks in a season. Swinson has played solid but, the sack production has slowed as he's sitting on 8.5 sacks. Given that Bradyn Swinson is likely a Day Two pick in the upcoming NFL Draft he may not play in the Bowl game. This weekend, Swinson can still put the final touches on an incredible season by recording a sack and a half which would get him to ten sacks on the year.
354 or more passing yards by Garrett Nussmeier
When LSU beat Vanderbilt, Garrett Nussmeier passed for 332 yards which allowed him to pass Rohan Davey for the third most passing yards in a season at LSU. The only two quarterbacks ahead of Nussmeier are Joe Burrow in 2019 and Jayden Daniels in 2023. Nussmeier is just 354 yards behind Jayden Daniels for the second most passing yards in a season. Nussmeier will most likely beat out Jayden Daniels if he plays in the Bowl Game but, doing it without the Bowl Game like Daniels did would be a stronger case.
