On Thursday Afternoon, the NFL Scouting Combine kicks off its On Field portion of the week as the defensive linemen and linebackers take the field. This draft class is headlined by elite defensive linemen in what could be one of the deepest defensive line classes this century. When the Draft Prospects take the field, keep an eye on these five defensive stars as they'll garner a ton of attention from NFL Front offices.
Bradyn Swinson

Flying under the radar among NFL Draft prospects is Bradyn Swinson who's a legitimate Top 50 prospect coming off of his breakout season. Swinson became a high level draft prospect this season and as team's judge his best year of film they'll want to get a better look at his ability. Swinson has all the physical tools to be a star in the NFL and his athletic ability will make him a top performer.
Deone Walker

After putting up 7.5 sacks as a Sophomore, Deone Walker took a massive step back recording just 1.5 sacks in 2024. After the disappointing season, scouts will be keeping their eyes on Walker to see if he shows any reason for the fall off in production. Other defensive tackles have started to rise up the draft boards and Walker will be looking to reassert himself as a top player in the class.
Sai'Vion Jones

The Senior Bowl was massive for Sai'Vion Jones who had an incredible showing at the Senior Bowl. While Jones was LSU's edge rusher this season, his play on the interior defensive line had everyone excited about his versatility. Jones' versatility could make him the perfect fit in the "Nascar Package" that NFL Defenses have adopted and another strong showing could have him drafted as high as the third round.
Jihaad Campbell

Among the players competing for the first round is Alabama Linebacker Jihaad Campbell coming off of two breakout seasons. Campbell could end up being an edge rusher or outside linebacker at the next level yet, he may be the best off ball linebacker in the class. Campbell's sideline to sideline speed will flash in the drills at the combine and could solidify his standing as a first round pick.
Shemar Stewart

After his showing at the Reese's Senior Bowl, nearly every team in attendance will be dying to watch Shemar Stewart again. Stewart has a chance to be the biggest winner at the combine with his athletic ability he could rise into Top 5 contention like Travon Walker did in 2022. The blend of speed, athleticism, and agility are rare and Stewart will test off the charts.
