The recruiting cycle is starting to ramp up in College Football as the Summer arrives marking an important period in the recruiting calendar. As official visits begin, each program will start to host massive recruiting weekends which gives each program the chance to start building momentum on the recruiting trail.

Elite Cornerback Chauncey Kennon names LSU in Top 6 while setting commitment date

On Monday, elite cornerback recruit Chauncey Kennon revealed his final 6 programs in contention including the LSU Tigers while also setting his commitment date for July 6th.

According to 24/7 Sports, Chauncey Kennon is a 5-star recruit ranked as the 27th ranked player in the class, the 2nd ranked cornerback, and the 4th ranked player out of Florida. Given that Miami, Florida, and Florida State are all still in the mix for Kennon, it may be tough for LSU to lure him out of State. Last recruiting cycle, LSU was able to land DJ Pickett out of Florida against a nearly identical group of schools which is promising.

This summer, LSU will get Chauncey Kennon on campus for an official visit during the loaded June 20th recruiting weekend. LSU Cornerback commit Havon Finney Jr will also be on campus which could help the Tigers in their efforts to land Kennon. The Tigers will need to make a massive push with Kennon if LSU is going to win out but, there's no one you'd rather have on your side in a recruiting battle than Corey Raymond.
