Brown's excitement for the Kiffin era in Baton Rouge is shared by LSU fans everywhere. Brain Kelly left Baton Rouge without ever appearing in the CFP and leading the Tigers to just one SEC title game. LSU has not appeared in the College Football Playoff since its National Championship-winning 2019 season, and the Tiger faithful are eager to compete for another national title.

With Kiffin leaving Ole Miss for LSU, there is a new excitement around the LSU Football program heading into 2026. Kiffin led Ole Miss to its best-ever season in 2025, leading the Rebels to an 11-1 record and a spot in the CFP for the first time in program history. His breakup with Ole Miss was a messy one, but Tiger fans are happy to have him in Baton Rouge.
Kiffin was announced as LSU's next head coach on November 30, and after leading LSU through the Early Signing Period, is set to navigate the program through the transfer portal which is set to open on January 2. There are several players that he must prioritize hanging onto, but he also figures to be busy in the portal.
Kiffin's first game on the sidelines at Tiger Stadium comes on Saturday, September 5 when the Clemson Tigers come to town. After such a disappointing 2025 season, the start of the 2026 season can't come soon enough.
