On Saturday, the LSU Football team suffered a setback on the recruiting trail as In-State wide receiver Jakai Anderson flipped his commitment from LSU to SMU. For the most part, LSU has been on a tear this spring so the first commitment flip comes as a bit of a surprise. In this recruiting class, LSU already had 3 other wide receivers on board which doesn't make Anderson's decision a massive blow for the Tigers.

Even with 4 wide receivers on board in this recruiting cycle, the LSU football team hasn't slowed down on the recruiting trail when it comes to pushing for wide receivers. After losing Jakai Anderson, if LSU truly wants to sign four wide receivers, three players standout as potential additions for the Tigers.

3. Xavier McDonald - Morton, Mississippi

Among the players LSU will get on campus this summer, Wide Receiver Xavier McDonald has an official visit set for June 13th. In College Recruiting your best base is in your own backyard as well as in bordering state and over the past few cycles, LSU has had success in Mississippi. The Tigers have strong ties in the state and they'll be needed in a recruitment against two In-State SEC schools and several other SEC opponents.

2. Jase Mathews - Leakesville, Mississippi

LSU has already gone into Mississippi and landed the State's top wide receiver in Tristen Keys, the Nation's top wide receiver, so what's one more? The LSU Football team hosted Jase Mathews on a visit this Spring, but the Tigers still have work to do if they're going to get into contention for Jase Mathews as other schools have positioned themselves better to this point. Mathews is the 66th ranked player in the class and the 8th ranked wide receiver which would make adding him alongside Tristen Keys a massive commitment.

1. Boobie Feaster - DeSoto, Texas

As LSU's recruiting class had gotten crowded at the Wide Receiver position it seemed like LSU may end up losing out in the race for Boobie Feaster. The Tigers were projected to land Boobie Feaster when the class had two wide receivers committed but, in the weeks that followed LSU added Tristen Keys and Jabari Mack which crowded the room. Now as LSU's class is back to three commits at WR, LSU's top priority should be adding Boobie Feaster to this class.

Feaster is originally a 2027 recruit who reclassified into the 2026 class which sped up his recruitment. Despite changing classes, Feaster is the 4th ranked wide receiver in the class and the 44th ranked player in the class speaking to the level of talent he has. If LSU can land Feaster, it would be an incredible haul on the recruiting trail.
