The LSU Football team is on a recruiting tear as of late as the Recruiting Dead Period is over allowing recruits back on campus. On Wednesday, LSU nabbed the Nation's top wide receiver Tristen Keys which skyrocketed LSU's class from third in the Country to the top ranked class nationally. As the Spring continues, the LSU Tigers are going to continue their push as they're in contention for the Nation's top recruiting class.

As the Spring continues, LSU will continue hosting some of the Nation's top recruits and they'll continue making strong impressions. One of the most important aspects of the Spring is remaining in a recruits "finalists group" which should allow LSU the chance to host the player on an official visit this Summer.

4-Star recruit KJ Ford names LSU one of 12 finalists

According to On3's Industry Recruiting Rankings, KJ Ford is the 109th ranked player in the Country, the 15th ranked edge rusher in the 2026 class, and the 16th ranked player out of Texas.

LSU jumped into the recruitment of KJ Ford this summer offering him a scholarship back in June. This Winter, Brian Kelly and Kevin Peoples continued their push for the elite pass rusher visiting Ford in Texas.

Duncanville has been a hot school for LSU over the past few recruiting cycles as LSU nabbed elite running back Caden Durham and held a commitment from Dakorien Moore before he decommitted.

The LSU Football team has a massive need for edge rushers in the 2026 recruiting class which makes Ford and other edge rushers top priorities. Last recruiting cycle, LSU only signed one edge rusher Damien Shanklin which meant this had to be a big edge class for LSU. Add in that LSU will lose Senior transfers Patrick Payton, Jimari Butler, and Jack Pyburn after this season and edge rusher is as important as it gets.

All eyes will now be on whether or not LSU is able to get Ford on campus for a visit this Spring as it would set the Tigers up for a chance this summer.
