Friday's rain in College Station caused the LSU Tigers and Texas A&M to play a Saturday doubleheader this weekend. The Tigers dropped the first game and as the Tigers looked to get back on track they didn't have a on of time to regroup. As the offense struggled mightily in game one, Jay Johnson made massive changes to the starting lineup and batting order looking to find a spark.

The good news for the LSU Baseball team is that the offense didn't need to do much as the Tigers got a dominant start out of Anthony Eyanson. Eyanson kept the Aggies hitless for 4 innings and finished the game only allowing 3 hits. This game was far and away Anthony Eyanson's best showing as he threw all 9 innings allowing just 3 hits and 1 walk while striking out 14.

While Jay Johnson reworked the batting order the Tigers offense couldn't find much sustained success in this game. The Tigers two runs came in the 6th inning as Jared Jones led the Tigers off with a double before Ethan Frey hit a double to drive Jones in. Derek Curiel then bunted Frey over to third, and the Tigers plated the game winning run on a perfect squeeze bunt by Josh Pearson.

Jay Johnson's decision to insert Ethan Frey into the starting lineup in this game proved to be his best decision. Frey gave the Tigers a 3-4 night at the plate with a double and an RBI driving in the tying run while scoring the winning run accounting for half of the Tigers hits.

The Tigers now head into Sunday with the bullpen set up nicely for the rubber match thanks to Eyanson's complete game and the depth Kade Anderson gave the Tigers in the first game. LSU's offense will need to wake up like they did last Sunday if the Tigers are going to go out and pick up a series win.
