The LSU Tigers added several impact transfers over the offseason, but getting Garrett Nussmeier back was the biggest offseason move Brian Kelly needed to make. Nussmeier is now in his fifth season of college football, and chose to forgo the NFL Draft for another season in Baton Rouge after throwing for 4,052 yards and 29 touchdowns last season.
So far this season, Nussmeier has led LSU to a 2-0 start and No. 3 ranking in the AP Poll heading into Week 3's SEC opener against Florida. Prior to facing the Gators, Nussmeier has inked an NIL deal with Nike.

Garrett Nussmeier inks NIL deal with Nike
Nussmeier's deal is the latest Nike NIL deal for some of the country's high-profile college football players. Most notably, Penn State quarterback Drew Allar and Alabama wide receiver Ryan Williams also have NIL deals with Nike.
According to On3's NIL Valuation, Nussmeier is among the highest earners in all of college football. His current NIL valuation sits at around $4 million, which places him fourth on On3's list of college football's highest NIL earners. Only Texas quarterback Arch Manning, Miami (FL) quarterback Carson Beck, and Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith are ahead of Nussmeier. Along with Nike, Nussmeier also has NIL deals with Raising Cane's, Powerade, Our Lady of the Lake, and Gordon McKernan, among others.
So far this season, Nussmeier has completed 54 of his 79 pass attempts for 469 yards and two touchdowns with one interception. He led LSU to a massive Week 1 win at then-No. 4 Clemson, and is still firmly in the Heisman conversation. The veteran QB will look to lead LSU to a 3-0 start on Saturday night against Florida. Kick-off is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. CT at Tiger Stadium.
