While coaching and play calling is incredibly important for a College Football offensive or defensive coordinator, the relationships a coach builds are more important. The players need to have a level of belief in the coach as they'll play harder for the coach while they'll also blindly execute the game plan.

The other part of setting that culture especially on defense is sending that message early and often that even gaining a yard on any play will be an all-out war. On Saturday Night, Sage Ryan sent that message loud and clear laying a massive hit on an Arkansas defender causing an incomplete pass.

Sage Ryan spoke on his hit this week and how he did it to bring the culture back to the defense.

"I saw him come across the middle and knew I had to put a lick on him… It’s about bringing that culture back."

Last Week Brian Kelly shared that part of the defense's transformation was the relationships Baker has built and the level of trust that is there between the Coach and his players specifically the linebackers who have played outstanding. A member of last season's team weighed in on the culture change as Mekhi Wingo did so while taking a shot at Matt House.

Mekhi Wingo wasn't the only one who was displeased with Matt House as we've already seen Jamar Cain take his shots at House but, the most notable may be Bradyn Swinson who hardly played under Matt House but, looks like an All American this season. Just minutes after Matt House and his staff were fired, Bradyn Swinson posted a video kicking rocks telling the former staff to do so.

Matt House will always be a lightning rod for LSU fans

When Matt House arrived at LSU, the Tigers went from a nasty ferocious defense that teams feared to a team that allowed teams that were far inferior to have their best game of the season on offense. Given some of the talent that was on those defense's it is unacceptable that House was as bad as he was and with last year's group and Blake Baker's coaching LSU is a playoff team. The Tigers in a far better place than they were with Blake Baker at the helm but, House wasted a generational offense.
