At Brian Kelly's last press conference he spoke the honest truth about what it takes to win recruiting battles in the current state of College Football and it's not about playing time or development but, its now a game of dollars and cents. Kelly called out the boosters saying that LSU needed a bigger buy in to win in the current era of College Football.

On Friday, LSU Football announced that Brian Kelly was going to be chipping in to help out LSU football by matching all donations to the Tiger Athletic Fund for Football up to $1 Million.

During his Press Availability, Brian Kelly spoke on the new initiative and shouldered the push saying it should start with him.

"I figured after my last press conference I had to put my money where my mouth is. My wife and I will match up to $1 million, new money donated through NIL for football. I thought this should start with me."

Say what you want to about Brian Kelly and his tenure at LSU thus far but, if this doesn't gain your respect than Kelly may just never gain your respect. Kelly realizes LSU trails some of the other massive schools and their NIL funding but, he's doing his part to make sure LSU can field the best rosters possible.

If you want to be able to compete for National Championships now its truly a money game as schools like Oregon and Texas with the biggest NIL collectives are dominating on the recruiting trail while everyone fights for a piece of what they have.

This initiative is an incredible move by Brian Kelly and hopefully some of the bigger boosters will join Kelly in his push for helping LSU in getting to where it needs to be.
