The biggest talking point on the recruiting trail for LSU has been surrounding the Quarterback position. The Tigers have been searching for a long term quarterback they can get on board after losing Bryce Underwood but, the success hasn't come. The chances of LSU landing a quarterback in the 2026 class are bleak as Jonas Williams flipped from Oregon to USC as LSU turned up the heat and LSU Target Dia Bell appears locked in with Texas.

The 2027 recruiting class has become the top priority for LSU when it comes to landing a quarterback as it appears to be LSU's best chance at landing an elite quarterback. During the first weekend of the Spring, LSU got elite recruit Trae Taylor on campus and the visit appears to have been a success.

LSU is also looking at In-State Quarterbacks Elijah Haven and Peyton Houston as well as other out of state Quarterbacks such as Colton Nussmeier the brother of LSU Quarterback Garrett Nussmeier. The top target of the class is Dunham's Elijah Haven who's ranked as a Top Ten recruit and the Top Quarterback in the 2027 class by On3, 24/7 Sports, and Rivals.

This Spring the LSU Football Program is one of three programs along with Michigan and Florida who will get Haven on Campus for an Unofficial visit.

LSU's Perfect Chance at Landing a Five-Star Quarterback and Revenge

When you see that Elijah Haven will visit Michigan red flags immediately go up after Michigan ponied up a ton of NIL money to lure another Top Ranked Quarterback out from under LSU. The Tigers however have the In-State advantage and the clear path to immediate playing time to lure in a recruit of Elijah Haven's stature. The Tigers can offer a chance at instant playing time as Garrett Nussmeier will no longer be in the picture while LSU has made a shift on the NIL front which better equips the Tigers for an NIL battle if that becomes the case.
