The College Basketball season is well underway and as SEC play continues two teams are starting to look like two of the best teams in the Country. It comes as a surprise to no one that LSU and South Carolina are starting to emerge as two of the Nation's best as Kim Mulkey and Dawn Staley have built their programs into National Powers winning the last two National Championships.
When Kim Mulkey takes her 5th ranked LSU Lady Tigers on the road to Columbia, South Carolina to take on the 2nd Ranked Gamecocks there will be some added star power as College Gameday will be making its first stop of the season for this matchup.

LSU vs South Carolina is quickly becoming one of the best rivalries in Women's College Basketball. Every time these teams face off the stakes couldn't be hire as the matchups have shaped SEC races, SEC Tournaments, and National Championship races. This is also the first time these teams will face off since the fight that ended the SEC Tournament last season so there is defintley bad blood still lingering.
If South Carolina can hold serve against Alabama and Oklahoma while LSU will need to stay unbeaten against Florida, this game could be between a one loss South Carolina team and an unbeaten LSU with both teams potentially taking perfect SEC records into this game.
The LSU Tigers have all the star power as Flau'Jae Johnson, Aneesah Morrow, and Mikaylah Williams have become the best trio in the Country. South Carolina's highest scorer is averaging just 11.2 points per game but, the team is playing sound Basketball as a team. We couldn't ask for a better matchup and a better matchup to kick of College Gameday this season as the entire Country will be tuned into this game.
