Garrett Nussmeier has plenty of talented receivers to throw to this season. Nussmeier likes to spread the ball around, as four different LSU pass-catchers totaled 400 receiving yards or more last season. Aaron Anderson's 884 yards led the pack.
With a loaded receiver room, Nussmeier has plenty of elite options at his disposal. One player who could be poised for a breakout season is sophomore wideout Kyle Parker.
Parker can burst onto the scene after injury-riddled freshman season
Parker saw limited action as a redshirt freshman in 2024. After suffering an injury in the first possession of the season against USC, he worked his way into the receiver rotation against South Alabama, UCLA, and South Carolina. However, a torn tricep tendon ended his season after just four games.
He made three catches for 55 yards in 2024, with his biggest play of the season coming against UCLA on Sept. 21. With the Tigers trailing 10-7, Parker hauled in a 45-yard touchdown pass down the right side from Nussmeier. The play changed the tone of the game, and helped lead LSU to a 34-17 victory. It's a small sample size, but the flashes are there to get LSU fans excited about what Parker can do in 2025.
Before his injury, Parker was a player the LSU coaching staff trusted throughout the fall and into the start of the 2024 season. Now healthy, Parker is turning heads in Fall Camp as the Tigers prepare for the 2025 campaign. Through nine days of camp, members of the LSU media are pointing to Parker as the early winner on the offensive side of the ball.

Parker can help the LSU passing attack be elite
A 5-foot-11, 195-pound wideout hailing from Allen, TX, Parker chose to attend LSU over other offers from Texas, Penn State, Louisville, and Oklahoma State, among others. He possesses great speed, and will be counted on for steady production in 2025. After battling injuries for most of his freshman campaign, Parker can burst onto the scene this season.
Opposing defenses have a lot to worry about when facing LSU. Parker is just one of many receiving threats in the Tiger offense. Along with Parker, Aaron Anderson, Zavion Thomas, Nic Anderson, Barion Brown, Chris Hilton Jr. and Destyn Hill give Nussmeier plenty of options to choose from.
Together, this receiving group has the potential to do special things in 2025. They have a chance to put the country on notice early, as a Week 1 battle against Clemson awaits on Aug. 30.
