The LSU Tigers are currently deadlocked in a 7-7 game against the Vanderbilt Commodores. The game has left a ton to be desired but, it has also shown some defensive improvement from the LSU defense aside from one busted coverage.
The Tigers scored their first touchdown of the game in the first quarter thanks to an incredible play by veteran running back Josh Williams.
The Tigers converted what would appear to most to be a typical extra point but, it was actually the opposite. The made extra point by Damian Ramos was his 119th consecutive make which surpassed former LSU kicker Cade York's record of 118 consectuive made extra points.
The new record is an incredible mark for Damian Ramos as he etches his name into the history books at LSU. For all of the struggles with the special teams unit this season, it's incredible that the extra point unit has been uber reliable ensuring that LSU gets 7 points every time it scores a touchdown.
It has been an incredible journey into the record books for kicker Damian Ramos as he started his career as a walk on in 2021. After gaining the job for LSU in 2022, he has never given the role of the starting kicker up. Given that LSU has the rest of this game left as well as two more games and one more potential season, we should see Damian Ramos make a good run at making this record really tough to beat.
