On Friday Afternoon, the 2nd ranked LSU Baseball team faced off against the Kansas State baseball team in the Frisco College Baseball Classic Opener. Tigers and Wildcats fans hoping to watch the game were quickly frustrated as D1Baseball was undergoing issues which caused fans to be stuck in a waiting queue.
Assuming everyone is having this issue?

While the fans struggled to find the game, the offenses struggled at the plate for the first two innings. In the third inning, Chris Stanfield doubled and the red hot Freshman Derek Curiel got the scoring with an RBI Triple.

Daniel Dickinson then did what he does best driving in Derek Curiel on a beautiful bunt to make it 2-0 LSU.
The good news for Kansas State fans was that Kade Anderson made sure they didn't miss much dominating Kansas State through the first five innings. Anderson shut the Wildcats down into the 6th inning until Dee Kennedy and Seth Dardar went back to back tying the game at 2. Anderson gave LSU 5.1 innings pitched allowing two runs on three hits and three walks while striking out ten.
In the 7th inning, the Tigers got their lead right back as a Chris Stanfield single that saw him reach third on two errors followed by a Jared Jones intentional walk put two on for Daniel Dickinson. The decision to walk Jones to face Dickinson proved to be costly as Dickinson launched a homer into the water in right.

The issue for the Tigers was that Kansas State punched right back to tie it as Mavrick Rizy loaded the bases before scoring a pair as DJ Primeaux plunked a pair. Connor Benge then came on and was able to get out of the jam only allowing one run to come across but, the game was tied at 5-5.
The Tigers started the ninth off strong as Kansas State made the mistake of walking Derek Curiel before Jared Jones lined a single to left before Daniel Dickinson advanced both into scoring position on a deep fly ball to left-center. Despite putting two in scoring position, Ashton Larson struck out and Luis Hernandez grounded out to strand a pair.
Kansas State had the heart of the order up in the 9th and as Dardar doubled to deep centerfield, it looked like Kansas State had walked it off but, Josh Smith hit Steven Milam who hit Luis Hernandez for the perfect relay throw to gun the runner out at home before a stellar play by Daniel Dickinson sent the game to extra innings.

Steven Milam started the tenth off with a great piece of hitting with a beautiful single to left as Kansas State shifted. Jake Brown reached on an error, advancing Milam to third, putting the go-ahead run 90 feet away from scoring. Josh Pearson dunked in a clutch single against a tough lefty to give LSU a 6-5 lead.

Casan Evans stayed on in the 10th inning looking to slam the door shut for the Tigers. Evans allowed the tying run to come to the plate but, he slammed the door shut giving the Tigers an exciting extra innings win.
Daniel Dickinson has been far and away the most important transfer for the Tigers with a 2-4 day at the plate with a home run and 6 RBIs. Derek Curiel continues to be so impressive with a 1-4 day at the plate with a triple, 2 walks, and an RBI.
The Tigers pitching staff struggled a bit with command issuing 7 walks while hitting three batters. As LSU still has two games left in a week where they've already played three games, the Tigers will need length out of Anthony Eyanson on Saturday.
The LSU Baseball team is back in action again on Saturday Afternoon as they'll take on the Nebraska Cornhuskers at 4:00 PM Central Time.
