This season, Derek Stingley Jr had far and away the best season of his NFL Career thus far. Stingley Jr was so good in fact that he was campaigning for All Pro honors for the first time in his career and this week he officially got the nod being named a First Team All Pro.
On Saturday Night, the LSU Football alum got his first chance to back up the All Pro nod with the Texans facing off against the Chargers in the Wild Card round. As the Chargers attempted to cut into the Texans 14 point lead in the fourth quarter, Stingley Jr slashed those hopes by catching a pass that went off the hands of Will Dissly and returning it to the 11 yard line.
When the Chargers hardly had any hope left down 20 points with just under 3 minutes remaining, Stingley sealed the deal practically running the route for the Chargers receiver picking off the ball.
Derek Stingley Jr finished the game with 4 tackles, 5 pass defenses, a pair of interceptions, 70 yards worth of return yards on the interceptions, and a forced fumble. Most cornerbacks aren't as productive as Stingley was tonight in their entire seasons yet, Stingley dominated this game.
Fellow LSU Tiger Danielle Hunter racked up 3 tackles and a quarterback hit for the Texans Defense in the Win.
The Texans now await their next opponent as they're slated to take on either the Chiefs, the Bills, the Ravens, or the Steelers depending upon who wins their games this weekend.
