Derek Stingley Jr has gone from "All Pro Sting" to "Highest Paid Sting" as the LSU Tiger cashed in on Monday Morning with a massive three year contract extension worth $90 Million with $89 Million guaranteed making him the highest paid cornerback in the history of the NFL.

In his third season in the NFL, Derek Stingley Jr broke out emerging as one of the top cornerbacks in the NFL. For his incredible season, Derek Stingley Jr was named a First Team All-Pro and a Pro Bowler for the first time in his NFL Career.

Cornerback is one of the toughest positions to come in right away and dominate in the NFL which is why Derek Stingley Jr didn't have the instant impact some of his other LSU counterparts had. This season was also the first year injuries didn't slow Derek Stingley Jr down and if he can continue to stay healthy he'll only continue to pick up accolades along the way.

The Texans have built an incredible young core especially on defense with pieces like Derek Stingley Jr, Will Anderson, Kamari Lassiter, and Calen Bullock. Locking Stingley Jr in on a long term extension allows the team to continue to build as they look to go on another deep Playoff run in 2025.

The Legacy of 2019 LSU continues to grow

The 2019 LSU Tigers are arguably the greatest college football team of All-Time after one of the most dominant seasons of All Time. If their run to the National Championship wasn't enough to cement their status, their impact in the NFL has only improved their legacy. Joe Burrow, Justin Jefferson, Ja'Marr Chase, and Derek Stingley Jr have all been the highest paid players at their position at one point and have all had All Pro seasons. The 2019 LSU Tigers have signed over $1,000,000,000 in NFL Contracts which is incredible this early into their careers.
