The College Basketball recruiting news has slowed down significantly as the vast majority of the Nation's top recruits in the 2025 recruiting class signed during the Early Signing period. The LSU Basketball team signed the Nation's 21st ranked recruiting class according to On3 nabbing Top 75 recruits Mazi Mosley, Matt Gilhool, and Jalen Reece. While the recruiting talk has died down the LSU Basketball program is still looking to add talent to the roster.

On3's Joe Tipton revealed that LSU is one of the programs still pushing for four-star Small Forward Aleks Alston along with 9 other schools and a Professional team from Serbia.

According to On3's Industry Recruiting Rankings, Aleks Alston is the 112th ranked player in the class, the 24th ranked Small Forward and the top player out of Illinois. Given that Alston is out of Illinois its a great sign for each school recruiting Alston that the hometown Fighting Illini are not in the mix.

While Alston would be the lowest ranked reccruit in LSU's recruiting class he's still a player that the Tigers should push for. This year LSU is struggling in part because they don't have the firepower to keep with other teams in the SEC.

The Tigers also lack size and length after Jalen Reed tore his ACL leaving the Tigers short handed. Adding a 6 foot 7 Small Forward or Power Forward would give LSU additional size on the wings and a player that can help inside especially against some of the other gifted forwards in the SEC.

Based upon how SEC play is playing out for the LSU Basketball team, the Tigers should explore any avenue that results in adding talent to the roster as otherwise LSU won;t ever make its way out of the basement in the SEC.
