The LSU Football team is having an impressive season on the recruiting trail as the Summer nears. The LSU Tigers hold the Nation's top ranked recruiting class with 9 commitments, 2 of which are 5-star recruits in the industry rankings while 6 of the commitments are 4-stars. As the Summer nears, the LSU Football team is looking to put itself in the best position to build out this recruiting class once recruits make their way to campus for official visits.

Heading into the Summer, the LSU Tigers find themselves in the running for another elite recruit as 4-star athlete Joel Wyatt has five official visits set.

The LSU Football team will get Joel Wyatt on campus on May 30th as one of his five official visits this Summer. In this recruitment, LSU is up against a loaded field as they look to beat out Bill Belichick at North Carolina, Kirby Smart at Georgia, and both In-State schools for Joel Wyatt in Tennessee and Vanderbilt.

The Tigers will get Joel Wyatt on campus the same weekend as 3-star defensive line target Emanuel Ruffin while the staff will look to get more recruits on campus. According to On3's Industry Recruiting Rankings, Wyatt is the 53rd ranked player in the class, the 3rd ranked athlete in the class, and the 2nd ranked player out of Tennessee.

While Wyatt is listed as an athlete, the LSU Football team is recruiting him as a safety while most are recruiting him as a wide receiver. Given LSU's surplus of wide receiver talent committed in this class and LSU's need at safety it makes the most sense to recruit Wyatt as a DB.

If LSU is going to win out in this recruitment, the Tigers will need to beat out Tennessee who is currently predicted to land Joel Wyatt.

After LSU missed out on 5-star safety Blaine Bradford the Tigers will need to land another safety in this class which gives the Tigers a clear path to pushing for Wyatt.
