The LSU Football team is moving full steam ahead on the recruiting trail as the coaching staff extends offers to recruits in the 2026 and 2027 recruiting classes before the upcoming dead period. The Tigers haven't hosted a ton of recruits yet this Winter but, some jam packed recruiting weekends are on the horizon.

One of those weekends is just over a week away as LSU will host a massive group of recruits on February 1st right before a Dead Period begins on February 3rd running through March 2nd. Among the recruits visiting LSU on February 1st is elite In-State Recruit Lamar Brown who planned his visit to Baton Rouge.

The news is massive as Lamar Brown is the top player in Louisiana and the Tigers will hope to get Brown on campus as often as possible over this next year. According to On3's Industry Recruiting Rankings, Lamar Brown is the 11th best player in the 2026 recruiting class, the top interior offensive lineman, and the top player in Louisiana.

While Lamar Brown is listed as an offensive lineman its unclear which position he'll play at the college level as he's elite on the defensive line as well.

It's great that LSU will get him onto campus prior to the dead period as out of state schools have continued to push for Lamar Brown. The school that is pushing the hardest to get Brown out of Louisiana is Texas A&M as they hosted Brown twice this fall while Mike Elko stopped in to visit Brown at school.

Regardless of which position Brown is looking to play he's a recruit LSU has to keep In-State. The Tigers may lose several interior offensive linemen to the NFL Draft next season while Jacobian Guillory is on the final year of eligibility on the interior of the defensive line. Last cycle, USC came into Louisiana and nabbed the top defensive lineman in Jakeem Stewart, LSU has to at some point push back keeping elite recruits In-State.
