While most of February the recruiting dead period has been in place, that hasn't stopped the good news on the recruiting trail from flooding in to Baton Rouge. The Tigers currently hold the Nation's 3rd ranked recruiting class and the best class in the SEC, once the recruiting dead period is over, the Tigers look poised to rise even further up the rankings.
Among the recruits who have named LSU one of their final schools is edge rusher Trent Henderson who named LSU one of his Top Ten Schools on Monday.

The Florida Native is ranked by On3's Industry Recruiting Rankings as the 45th best player in the class, the 5th ranked edge rusher in the class, and the 5th ranked player out of Florida.
LSU's Coaching Staff offered Henderson last May and has been recruiting him ever since as Brian Kelly visited his school in January. Following the visit Henderson told LSU Tigers Sports Illustrated that he'll be taking a visit to LSU this Spring which would be massive for the Tigers.
The Edge Rusher position will be one the LSU Football team is recruiting heavily during the 2026 cycle. During the 2025 cycle LSU signed just one edge rusher in Damien Shanklin which alone would've made this class important. Add in that LSU will lose Patrick Payton, Jimari Butler, and Jack Pyburn following this season and the Tigers are going to need an influx of edge rush talent.
The tape backs up the ranking as Henderson is a monster as a pass rusher and even if you double team him its not enough help. Landing Henderson would give LSU an incredible talent at edge rusher that could contribute as soon as he gets on campus with the number of players LSU will lose at edge to the NFL Draft.
