Now that the College Football season has come to a close everyone is eyeing the 2025 College Football Season after an exciting first year under the 12 Team College Football Playoff format. This time of year, everyone tries to make early predictions on who will be the Way Too Early Top 25 teams, the Heisman Contenders, and more.
On Monday, ESPN released its Way Too Early College Football All American Teams and the first place everyone will look is the Quarterback position. ESPN picked Cade Klubnik as its First Team Quarterback after a massive season accounting for 4,000 yards and 40 touchdowns. The selection of Klubnik will draw few criticisms as he's returning after a massive season and will put up massive numbers once again in the ACC.
The Second Team All American is where many will take exception as Texas Quarterback Arch Manning was named the Way Too Early selection. ESPN is drinking the Kool Aid and buying in early on the Arch Manning hype despite the fact he's only thrown 95 passes in his College career for 969 yards with 9 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.
There is going to be a ton of hype around Arch Manning because of the last name as well as because of his production in limited experience. The first season as a full time starter will be much tougher than making spot starts as teams now have film on Manning and will know his ability as a rusher.
Garrett Nussmeier should have been ESPN's Second Team All American Quarterback based on what he showed this season. In his first season as a starter, Nussmeier passed for 4,052 yards with 29 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. Now with a full year of experience under his belt Nussmeier should be able to cut down on the turnovers and maximize scoring attempts.
In 2025, Garrett Nussmeier's receiving core will be far more talented than the group he had in 2024 with the additions of Barion Brown and Nic Anderson while if Chris Hilton Jr can stay healthy he can be the best deep threat in the Country.
At LSU and in this offense, Quarterbacks have taken massive second year leaps as Jayden Daniels and Joe Burrow both won Heisman's in their second years as the starter for LSU. The Tigers had to lean on Nussmeier to be Superman far too often in 2024 and now with an improved rushing attack and improved weapons he'll have a chance at winning the Heisman.
