It was an In-State showdown in Baton Rouge on Tuesday Night as the LSU Baseball team hosted the New Orleans Privateers. After a taxing weekend series for the pitching staff against Missouri it was unclear who LSU would pitch but, Jay Johnson chose to give Jaden Noot his first career start.

While Noot struggled at first in the first inning, he was able to work himself out of trouble allowing just one run. From there, the LSU offense took over starting in the first inning as Jared Jones remained red hot with a solo home run to left field that traveled 450 FT and came off the bat at 114 MPH.

LSU would take the lead in the second on a bases-loaded walk and from there the Tigers never looked back. In the third inning, LSU blew the game open plating four runs starting with Cade Arrambide's second home run of the year.

Bear Jones would then drive in another run on a single to right field scoring Tanner Reaves before Josh Pearson drove home Jones with a single of his own.

In the fifth inning, Ethan Frey joined in on the power surge with a three run blast to right field giving LSU a 9-1 lead.

Jared Jones put the game on the brink of a mercy rule win in the 6th inning with an RBI Double scoring Derek Curiel.

Ethan Frey wasn't done as he walked the game off with his second home run of the day this time to left field.

Jay Johnson's decision to start Jaden Noot panned out as LSU got four innings out of Noot allowing just one run on four hits and a walk while striking out five. Jacob Mayers followed Noot out of the bullpen going 1.2 innings pitched without allowing a hit striking out four. Cooper Williams closed the game out for LSU pitching 1.1 innings allowing just a pair of hits.

Jared Jones continues his red hot surge as he turned in another dominant performance with a 4-5 day at the plate with a home run, a double, 3 RBIs, and three runs scored. Ethan Frey didn't start this game yet, he finished 2-2 with a pair of home runs and four RBIs further showing how loaded LSU's outfield is. The Tigers as a whole continue to flood the basepaths with 13 hits and 7 walks in this game putting constant pressure on New Orleans.

The Tigers now travel to Austin where they'll face off against the 5th ranked Texas Longhorns in a massive SEC clash.
